A machine gun fires continuously when the trigger is held down. A Forced Reset Trigger (FRT) requires a separate, distinct physical pull for every single round fired. The FRT simply uses the kinetic energy of the bolt carrier group to mechanically push your trigger forward, resetting it instantly. Because it maintains a strict rule of one shot per trigger pull, it is classified as a semi-automatic action.
Yes. Our drop-in Forced Reset Triggers are engineered to fit standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers using standard small pins. No permanent modifications or gunsmithing are required.
Yes. To function properly, an FRT requires a full-auto profile BCG (also known as an M16 profile carrier). The extended metal shroud on the bottom rear of a full-auto carrier is what physically contacts and trips the trigger's mechanical reset bar. Semi-auto cut or lightweight skeletonized carriers will not trip the mechanism.
Because an FRT cycles the action near the mechanical limit of the firearm, proper timing is everything. If you experience tuning issues, ensure you are running:
A heavy H2 or H3 carbine buffer to eliminate bolt bounce.
An extra-power buffer spring (like a Sprinco Red) to push the bolt firmly back into battery.
High-quality, factory-spec 5.56 NATO ammunition rather than lower-pressure .223 or steel-cased rounds.
